OUR OPINION
While on tour with the group in 1995, Jim Kerr fell in love with Taormina, working with his friends Antonio and Giovanni Chemi, he chose an idyllic spot, to create an intimate boutique hotel with stunning views of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea.
The hotel is a step-like building in warm yellow, with all materials locally sourced such as the Taormina stone and the distinctive Caltagirone ceramics.
Every room has a generously sized terrace for basking under the Sicilian sun with amazing view coming as standard. Glass doors and wall-sized windows throughout give the hotel a superb sense of light.
The Villa Angela is 20 minutes’ walk up the hill from Taormina. As such, you’ve got plenty in the way of trattorias, bars and boutiques within easy reach
