OUR OPINION

Musciara Resort is a small charming hotel with its own private sandy beach in Siracusa, capital of the Sicilian baroque.

The property is a little jewel featuring a stylish combination of elegance, traditional Sicilian furnishings and ethnic decor.

All rooms have views of the sea which washes the hotel's private beach and of the island of Ortigia, the ancient center of Siracusa.

The property's private beach is the true heart of the Musciara Siracusa Resort, an ideal place to unwind during the day or enjoy the sunset whilst sipping a cocktail at the resort's sea-edge Lounge bar.

 

Delicious breakfasts are served on the terrace by the beach.

On request is possible to arrange light meals.

For eating out in the evening, there are many good restaurants nearby, particularly in Ortigia.



The Musciara resort is made of eleven room with stunning views of the sea and the island of Ortigia.

There are 3 apartments located 50m away from the hotel (4 people max).

Casa Francesca, Casa Ludovica, and Casa Teresa consist of: a large double bedroom, living room with sea view and 2 single beds, a kitchenette opening onto a terrace with table and chaise-lounges.

2 independent apartments with kitchenette.

These are meant to be a refuge loacated in the center of the city, yet isolated from the hubub.

With their own independent entrance, a seaview balcony, and a small piece of kitchen furniture, you can enjoy complete independance and privacy.

All rooms include a flat screen TV, a mini bar, a safe and air conditioning.

Just steps away from the historic island of Ortigia,  in Siracusa's Porto Piccolo, also known as Lakkios from its orginal greek name.

Siracusa is a city packed with history, witness of a glorius past when it was one the antagonist of Athens over the domination of Sicily.

Today it is one of Italy's most interesting cities with wonderful medieval stonework, Baroque façades and balconies, numerous churches and a wide choice of bars, cafes and restaurants, and chic shops.

Sailing around Siracusa

Siracusa lies partly on an island and being surrounded by two large bays, can only be a city with a long maritime tradition.

To remember the historic importance of the sea for Siracusa, for some years the annual calendar is full of boat races representing the evolution of this ancient seaside city.

Musciara resort can organise for its guests to be on board as observer or as an active crew member in many of these races that take place every year.

It's also possible to organise a day or half day excursion sailing around the Ortigia island among coastal caves of the Plemmirio Natural Marine Reserve.

For the more active the Musciara proposes a sailing yacht Hanse 411 (41feet, max 8 people) or a sport sail boat (24 feet, max 4 people).

• Half day: sailing around the Syracuse port and the Plemmirio Marine Reserve
