Holidays in Southern Sardinia
Most of the population is gathered in and around Cagliari in the plain of Campidano; the main economic activities are agriculture, livestock, handicrafts, mining, food processing and tourism.
The surroundings of Cagliari are very interesting both natural and cultural, the ponds of Santa Giusta Montelargius and the Gulf of Angels, are an important oasis for many rare species of birds, such as pink flamingos, chickens sultans, the hawks swamp, and Avocette garzette, while evidence of rural life can still be found in the nearby villages, now incorporated in the Sardinian capital.
Southern Sardinia is a destination for holidays suited to young families, although in recent years has tended to favor the holidaymakers in search of serenity, do not miss the beach Timi Ama and the beach of Porto Giunco.
