Sardinia's Best Beaches

Sardinia East Coast

Cala Girgolu
Beach protected by capes, in a stretch of coastline full of coves and gorges where many pink granite rocks border the sea, such as the famous "Turtle".

Behind the beach there is the small pond Ghjlgòlu, frequented by herons, cormorants, ducks and other birds.

Coda Cavallo
This stretch of beach with white sand is protected by dunes on which juniper trees grow has always been a point of reference for sailors.

Cala Luna
Cala Luna is regarded as the number one beach on the Mediterranean, is a white half-moon crescent lapped by crystal-clear waters, overlooking the Gulf of Orosei.

On the upper side of the beach there six small grottos and the Grotta del Bue Marino, the last sanctuary of the endangered monk seal, this is the most spectacular of the grottos

Cannigione
The beach of fine white sand few minutes from the town of Cannigione is surrounded by juniper trees and small pond. It is an oasis of peace, comfort and relaxation.

Costa Smeralda Spiaggia del Principe
His name is linked to an alleged preference of Prince Aga Khan for this corner of the sea.

Her beauty is unquestionable, two wings of sand separated by a pink rocky promontory covered with vegetation.

Sardinia North West Coast

Spiaggia della Pelosa
Considered as one of Sardinia's best beaches, Spiaggia della Pelosa is about an hour's drive from Alghero up to the north-west coast. Flour-fine white sand is lapped by crystalline shallow water guarded by an ancient stone watchtower. 

It’s busy in high season and the nearby village of Stintino make an interesting stop for lunch.

Li Cossi
Among the most known beaches in Sardinia, Li Cossi it is a corner of great charm and evocativeness, located within in a wind-sheltered cove, enclosed between rocks and bluffs of pink trachyte.

Beach le Mimose
The Bay of the Mimose is an expanse of candid sand caressed by a celestial sea and framed by dunes that spreads its scents along the beach.

Maddalena Archipelago - Sardinia North East
A short distance from the rugged north-eastern coast of Sardinia, the archipelago of La Maddalena is the 'most beautiful corner of the Mediterranean.

It consists of a series of islands, islets and rocks of granite smoothed by the wind, whose total area is less than 50 square kilometres.

The main islands of the archipelago are seven: the homonymous Maddalena, Caprera and Santo Stefano to the southeast, Spargi, Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria to the northwest.

With the 180 km coastline of the archipelago, there some of the most famous and evocative   beaches  of the Mediterranean, we mention in particular La Spiaggia del Cavaliere Rosa in Budelli, the beaches of Cala Coticciu and  Del Relitto in Caprera, Corsara and Cala Cala Granara in Spargi.

Tavolara Marine Reserve - Sardinia East Coast
The Tavolara Archipelago, on Sardinia north-eastern coast not far from the Emerald Coast,  is composed by the isles of Tavolara, Molara and Molarotto.

It's a protected marine area rich in Mediterranean colors extending from Capo Ceraso to Capo Coda Cavallo and presents a series of inlets, beaches, bays, and promontories.

Asinara Island - North Sardinia
Asinara is the second largest island of Sardinia after Sant'Antioco. It is a narrow territory stretching from North to South, with a very indented coastline, which highlights the great variety of habitats.

The island has an extremely peculiar historical, environmental, and juridical situation. Although the first evidences of human presence date back to the Neolithic Age, the environmental features of the area have been preserved thanks to a series of events which gave it the name of "Isola del Diavolo" ("Devil's Island").




Marine Reserve of Porto Conte - Sardinia North West
The aim of Porto Conte Park is to ensure a unitary management of the ecosystem complex of international interest situated in the north of the town of Alghero, which has been defined by the great naturalist Jaques Costeau "one of the most beautiful corners of the Mediterranean". 

The territories it encloses are enough to legitimate the protection measures. At the moment, the Park borders do not go beyond the borders of the Municipality of Alghero.

Is Molas Golf Club

The golf course of Is Molas was the first in Sardinia and with its twenty-seven holes is the largest on island.

The proximity of the sea and the protection of the hills surrounding the town of Is Molas create a unique microclimate all year round: the temperature reaches 20 degrees in early spring, rises above 30 in summer and even in December and January is likely to be higher than the 15 degrees.

The championship eighteen holes course was designed by the collaboration between the Cotton Studio, Pennink & Partners and Piero Mancinelli.

The Is Molas championship course is considered one of the most technically satisfying and spectacular courses not just in Italy, but in the whole of the Mediterranean area. It has staged many prestigious competitions, including four Italian Opens and a European Volvo Masters.

The nine holes of the yellow route, the most difficult to play, have the signature of Franco Piras of the Gary Player Design.

The presence of all the typical species of the Mediterranean Marquis along golf course makes the Is Molas a beautiful garden with sea views.

The Club House is elegant and well equipped: there is a bar with panoramic terrace, a shop and a restaurant open for lunch and for special occasions, which offers an innovative Mediterranean menu with many traditional Sardinia dishes.

Located in the glamourous Emerald Coast on Sardinia east coast, Pevero Golf Club (18 buche e 72 par) is surrounded by rocks and natural pools, and is perfumed with the aromas of strawberries, juniper and myrtle released by the lush Mediterranean maquis.

The golf was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr in 1972 and since then has been considered as one of the best courses in the world.

Diving in Sardinia
