The historic spa center, situated over the healing "Gurgitello" springs, was constructed by the Manzi brothers in 1863, under the design of architect Gaetano Fazzini.

The interiors were created in Pompeian style with majestic columns and convex and barrel vaults.

Next to the spa center was situated the "Dei Romani" hotel, where General Giuseppe Garibaldi resorted to for treatment in 1864 after injuries sustained in the battle of Aspermont.

In the 1960's, the famous film producer Angelo Rizzoli acquired and restored the complex, turning it into a top holiday resort.

RESTAURANT
The exclusive restaurant with an à la carte menu, Il Mosaico, offers mouthwatering dishes personally created by the hotel chef, bringing out the best in Italian and local cuisine. Dietary meals available.

La Terrazza offers evenings in true Ischian spirit. Traditional wood-fire oven serving freshly baked pizzas and grilled meat.
The Bouganvilla is situated on the roof garden and ideal for light lunches, offering authentic, colourful Mediterranean cuisine.

All rooms with a balcony or terrace with views either over the splendid internal gardens or the surrounding scenery. is located over the famous ancient natural springs of “Gurgitello” over an area 1,600 square metres, offering an oasis of serenity where guests can indulge in the peaceful surroundings and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. The regenerating qualities of the thermal water are combined with the art of massage using traditional and oriental techniques for both the cure of diverse ailments or to simply relax and pamper. A wide range of hydrotherapy is offered plus anti-stress treatments, beauty treatments, mud baths and diverse therapeutic treatments including aerosol.
