Suites Hotel Berghofer     

At 1,500 m high the Berghofer Hotel offers breathtaking views over the vineyards and the mountains of the South Tyrol region.

Quietness, space and nature, the location is simply unique.

Built in the early 60's the hotel was completely renovated in year 2000, architect Zeno Bampi has created a stunning hotel where you can forget the everyday life and concentrate on your well being.

The original style blends with a modern Tyrolean architecture giving the house a cozy and elegant atmosphere, the interiors are a potpourri of traditional and modern, of Alpine and Mediterranean.

The tranquillity continues: there are shelves of books and magazines beside the fire, light modern furniture, an abundance of flowers, a cuckoo clock to tick away the hours.
 


Lot of emphasis is put on seasonal produce and genuinly organic food.

Homemade jams, stewed fruit and juices are prepared with the fruits of the hotel's own garden.

Traditional South Tyrolean specialties are combined with light and modern dishes are served at the restaurant while the bar is the perfect place to enjoy an home made juice or an apertif.

A fine selection of local and italian wines is on the wine list.



The Suites Hotel Berghofer features 14 suites and 1 chalet with telephone, TV, free wireless internet connection, minibar, safe, hair dryer, bathrobes, slippers and South Tyrolean mountain pine toiletries. 

All of them have seperate living and bed rooms, a veranda and a step-out-balcony with a view to the mountains that give their names to the suites.

Most of the rooms are wooden panelled in order to give you a cosy feeling and a good rest.

• The Wellness area at the 'Berghofer' offers a relaxing therapeutic bath in the Haslau tub, as well as a sauna, herb and steam bath, Kneipp bath and a special shower.

There are many routes to go hiking or biking in this area: up to 2.500 m to the peaks of the mountains Corno Bianco/Weißhorn and Corno Nero/Schwarzhorn or through the forests.

• Golf

The Golf Club Petersberg is only 20 km away from the hotel. The 18 hole course is located on a high plateau at 1250 m altitude with a great view to the mountains. The golf club also features a driving range, putting greens and pitching greens.

The “Törggelen”

„Törggelen“ is a centuries-old South Tyrolean tradition. Originally, the term Törggelen comes from the Latin word “torquere” and means pressing the wine.
   
Years ago, along the Wine Route and anywhere that produced the Vino Novello, in the autumn after the grape pressing, people would gather to enjoy good local produce.

But what did they eat? It was and still is a very special meal:  Krauti, dumplings, smoked meat, homemade sausages, bacon, cold cuts, cheeses and many other local products.
   
For dessert donuts and roasted chestnuts with butter, especially good when consumed with the "suser"!
   
There came a certain languor? You can enjoy all these products into a traditional taverns from October until mid-November.

What could be nicer than an autumnal walk through the colourful landscape with such delicious specialities to eat and drink as a reward!
