OUR OPINION

The charming Palazzo Mosco Inn offers a wonderful stay in the atmospheric old town of Gallipoli with every corner offering a little piece of history.

The building dates back to the 18th century, when it was built by the aristocratic Mosco family, and was converted into a boutique hotel only in 2004

All the rooms have been decorated in keeping with the original building, décor is elegant and comfort has been considered throughout.

Breakfast is served on the roof terrace where you may enjoy spectacular views over the rooftops to the glorious blue sea.

This is a great choice those of you looking for a one-off special stay. Restaurants are in abundance on the island and are all within easy walking distance through the maze of alleys and should you wish for a dip in the sea, the sandy beach of La Purita' is just around the corner.

On the panoramic terrace rich breakfasts are served as well as pleasant aperitif at sunset. With a short walks one is able to reach typical restaurants, mostly offering the catch of the day.

The rooms with their sober and elegant furnishings reflect the style of a nineteenth century palace. They are all different from one another, some still have the original mosaics, some facing down on the old alleys of the village, some with balcony. The classic style is married to a great functionality and the presence of all the modern comforts. Standard and deluxe all have a bathroom with shower, hair dryer and courtesy kit, air conditioning, satellite TV, internet, telephone and mini bar.

Charming Gallipoli

Gallipoli old town is the perfect size to explore on foot and is home to several charming churches, including the Baroque Cathedral of Saint Agatha with its beautiful façade, intricately carved from local stone.

Peculiarities of the city of Gallipoli and of its ancient village are the characteristic restaurants where one can taste a wide variety of fish and sea food, all the restaurants are reachable on foot, so one can alternate the taste of the food to the pleasure of a walk between the narrow lanes.
